My name is Elisa Bandeira, and I have been a senior lecturer in the Portuguese Maritime College “Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique” where I taught Maritime and Technical English as well as engineering curricula for about 30 years.
Before that, I served in the Merchant Marine for 10 years at sea, as a Radio Electronic Officer on board different types of cargo ships. After leaving my life at sea, I worked ashore for a short period and then I decided to start an academic career in the Portuguese Maritime College.
My qualifications for being an English teacher, in parallel to my nautical studies, are Certificate of Proficiency in English and Diploma of English Studies, CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults), uf PhD in English language teaching.
